Taggie Blanket

My youngest is 3, but with three older siblings she bypassed the baby stage quickly.

Not to mention that two girls came before her and I had just about everything I needed (and was much too lazy to buy/make anything new).

So with the explosion of new babies around me, I’ve pulled out some of the projects I always wanted to do but never did for my own kids (did I mention I was lazy?) And in my continued quest to de-stash I’ve pulled out all the baby related fabric (holey sh** is there a lot of it! Would it be weird to do a give away of my stash fabric?)

Welcome baby gift: Polar fleece Winnie the Pooh printed blanked and matching mini blankie with taggies for baby to grab onto (notice I had Disney ribbon—also sitting in my stash for years!)

The taggie blankie is about 15x15 inches. Three taggies on each side seemed to be enough. You could eyeball it (like I did) or cut the tags in various lengths to make it more interesting. I opted to make each tag the same length.

Cut two squares, lay the first one right side up. Fold each ribbon in half and pin then (about an inch away from where your seem is going to be), then lay the other side, right side down, over top.

Stitch, serge—however you sew this, I suggest going over the tag area a couple of times—leave enough of an opening to flip the blankie over to the right side.

Top stitch (I used ¼ of an inch away from the edge as my guide, but you could do more or less).

TADA! Welcome baby gift all done and ready to go!
